I am going to take my practical course this summer. Anybody have any good schools they would recommend, anywhere in UK.

Hi Ferdi,
Welcome to Yotlinx. Yotlinx is ideal for land-locked sailors such as yourself. I hope you can find the sailing and friends you want. If not, don't forget you can creat your own sailing and see who else is up for it too, go to 'Create and Event'.
Back to your question though, Yorkshire to Scotland is not that far and you get some of the best sailing in the world. Of course there are many good RYA schools around the country. You might consider contacting 'jeremy' via the events listing, he operates training in the Solent. However, I can personally recommend the Cumbrae National Sports Centre who operate from Largs, Seascape who operate for Dunstaffnage and Isle of Skye Yachts who operat from Armadale. Al of these offer great value, and incredibly beautiful sailing.
Hope this helps,
David

Hello Ferdi
I endorse David's comments and would highly recommend SportScotland on the Isle of Cumbrae for RYA courses. I completed my Day Skipper course last year. The instructors are friendly, considerate and very professional. I purchased a Beneteau 321 Oceanis last year which is berthed at Clyde marina. If you or anyone else (experienced or novice)are interested in cruising / sailing the west coast of Scotland, call me on 07939038266. I sail most weekends and sometimes weekdays.
Good luck
Louis
